Laborer charged in Chandra Levy slaying
A jailed laborer from El Salvador has been charged with first-degree murder in the 2001 slaying of federal intern Chandra Levy, authorities said today. The suspect, Ingmar Guandique, is serving a 10-year prison sentence in California for two assaults in Washington's Rock Creek Park that occurred around the time of Levy's disappearance. Levy's remains were found in the park.
